FAAN has cleared ride-hailing platform Bolt to resume operations at all Nigerian airports immediately, following an operational agreement that ended a dispute over safety, security and accountability concerns. The authority stated the disagreement stemmed from nearly a decade of issues including unregulated pickups, passenger solicitation and drivers working across multiple platforms simultaneously. FAAN emphasized it does not control fares, explaining that rates discussed publicly existed prior to its ACHRAMS airport car-hire management system, which merely made existing fares more visible to passengers. Director of Public Affairs Henry Agbebire apologized for passenger inconvenience, confirming FAAN had 'listened, reflected and made the necessary adjustments.' The authority clarified ACHRAMS is not an e-hailing app and does not compete with Bolt, Uber or other mobility platforms. FAAN remains in discussions with other e-hailing operators, expecting conclusions 'in the coming days,' and reiterated its actions were driven by regulatory—not commercial—considerations while denying any intent to monopolize airport transportation.
