FAAN enforces cashless payments at airports nationwide
Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) will enforce cashless payments at all airports nationwide starting March 1, 2026. This follows a directive by Managing Director Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku to block revenue leakages and support fiscal reforms. The policy covers access gates, car parks, and VIP lounges, eliminating cash transactions. FAAN generated N387.8 billion in 2024 and N483.1 billion in 2025, with N128.8 billion and N150.6 billion deducted as Consolidated Revenue Fund remittances respectively. Passengers must obtain payment tools before arrival. The initiative, branded 'Operation Go Cashless' and implemented with Paystack, aims to modernize operations and improve accountability.
