Fake agency head infiltrated FG agencies, got fake office & bank accounts
Adeniyi Adeyemi, posing as Director-General of the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), infiltrated top Nigerian government agencies by forging State House letterhead. He secured office space at Abuja's Federal Secretariat, obtained dollar and pound domiciliary accounts from CBN, and got self-accounting status with a budget code from OAGF - all while the Presidency had never approved his appointment.
This exposed critical vulnerabilities in government verification systems, allowing a fictitious agency to access public funds and resources for over a year. Agencies including OSGF, OAGF, and CBN processed his requests believing they came from legitimate presidential offices, putting state assets at risk of fraud.
Adeyemi was arrested October 27, 2025 after Femi Gbajabiamila, Tinubu's Chief of Staff, first exposed the fraud and triggered police investigation. He faces eight counts of forgery (up to 21 years per charge) plus one additional charge, with trial set for July 27, 2026.
