FC Midtjylland have re-signed Nigerian striker Stanley Iheanacho from Portuguese side CD Mafra on a contract running until December 31, 2030. The 21-year-old previously played for the Danish Superliga club before moving to Mafra two years ago, where he scored 17 goals in 65 appearances across all competitions.

Speaking about his return to the club where he began his senior career, Iheanacho told Midtjylland's official website: 'I already know many of the team, as several of those I played with in the U19 team and in Mafra are now playing in the first team. I look forward to being part of the club again, hopefully winning titles and playing in the Europa League.'

This transfer matters for Nigerian audiences as it shows a homegrown striker securing long-term stability in a competitive European league at a young age. The contract running to 2030 suggests Midtjylland views him as a core future player, while his Europa League ambition aligns with the club's recent continental aspirations. Nigerian fans can now track his development knowing he's contracted for multiple seasons, with his first challenge being to help the club challenge for Superliga honors and qualify for European competition.
