A Federal Capital Territory High Court judge rejected a $10,000 bribe attempt by complainant Asabe Waziri, according to video evidence tendered by police. Barrister Victor Giwa, representing client Cecil Osakwe, revealed the judge stated he would return the case file to the Chief Judge due to the alleged compromise attempt. Giwa faces contempt charges for allegedly forging a Senior Advocate of Nigeria's letterhead in the case against Osakwe and co-accused Bukola Ibitade. However, Chief Awa Kalu denied any forgery complaint, stating he never reported the alleged misuse of his letterhead. The case was adjourned for Giwa's motions challenging jurisdiction. This highlights ongoing judicial integrity concerns in FCT courts.
