The Nigerian government has initiated the evacuation of citizens from Iran amid escalating Middle East tensions. NiDCOM Chairman Abike Dabiri-Erewa confirmed the operation, with Nigerian Embassy officials in Tehran coordinating departures. Evacuees are being escorted across the Armenian border for safe passage. This follows U.S.-Israel military strikes on Iran on February 28, triggering regional retaliatory attacks. Despite the conflict, NiDCOM assures no Nigerians in Iran have been affected. Embassy officials remain at the border to assist those wishing to leave. Nigerians in Iran should contact the embassy immediately for evacuation arrangements.
