Federal HighCourt Chief Justice Violates Code of Conduct Law
Federal High Court Chief Justice John Terhemba Tsoho failed to declare three United Bank for Africa accounts and one Access Bank account in his asset declaration form submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau on 29 April 2024. The PREMIUM TIMES investigation revealed the undeclared accounts violate Section 15 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, which mandates full disclosure of all assets by public officers. Non-disclosure constitutes a breach potentially punishable by removal from office, disqualification for up to 10 years, and forfeiture of improperly declared assets. The case echoes the 2019 Walter Onnoghen conviction, though Onnoghen's case was later overturned. Justice Tsoho did not respond to requests for comment. The National Judicial Council has launched a separate probe into judicial misconduct allegations.
