FG Approves N4B for 12 Universities to Upgrade Engineering Facilities
Federal Government approves N4 billion each for 12 engineering and technology universities to upgrade workshops and procure modern equipment. Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa announced the High-Impact Intervention Project during the TETFund committee inauguration in Abuja. The initiative targets rehabilitation of Engineering and Technology faculties nationwide, with beneficiaries including FUT Minna, FUT Akure, FUT Babura, FUT Ikot-Abasi, FUT Owerri, Nigerian Army University, BIU, African Aviation and Aerospace University, Shehu Shagari University of Education, Sokoto, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, and University of Ilesha. Funds will upgrade existing facilities or construct new workshops where necessary. An additional N20 billion was provided in 2026 TETFund guidelines for other institutions. Implementation Committee monitors compliance, evaluates outcomes, and recommends sanctions for non-compliant institutions.
