FIFAto rule today on Nigeria's petition against DR Congo
FIFA will decide today on Nigeria's appeal against DR Congo's participation in the 2026 World Cup. Nigeria filed the petition in December after six DR Congo players changed nationality before the African play-off final. The Eagles lost 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in that match. If FIFA rules in Nigeria's favor, they'll replace DR Congo in the Intercontinental Play-Off tournament in March. NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi stated Nigeria has a strong case and is awaiting FIFA's decision.
