FirstHoldCo Joins FTSE Frontier 50 Index Effective September 21, 2026
FirstHoldCo Plc will join the FTSE Frontier 50 Index starting 21 September 2026, a milestone the chairman Femi Otedola calls a defining step in the firm’s evolution. The index tracks leading, investable companies across frontier markets, and FirstHoldCo becomes one of six Nigerian firms represented.
The inclusion follows the company meeting the Central Bank of Nigeria’s minimum capital requirement and reflects strong market performance, improved financial results, strategic execution, enhanced governance and a focus on long‑term shareholder value. FTSE’s selection criteria cover market capitalisation, liquidity, free float, governance standards and investability, meaning the listing is an independent recognition of FirstHoldCo’s scale and fundamentals.
Analysts say the move could deepen liquidity, attract more interest from asset managers, exchange‑traded funds, pension funds and other global investors seeking frontier‑market exposure, potentially easing access to international capital for the group.
With global investors growing more selective about frontier markets, will this index inclusion make you view FirstHoldCo as a more attractive investment, or prompt you to explore other Nigerian financial stocks now gaining similar recognition?
