Five political parties have concluded presidential primaries for Nigeria's 2027 general election with less than 48 hours remaining before the INEC deadline on May 30. The All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and African Action Congress (AAC) have produced candidates, while disputes over alleged irregularities trail some exercises.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar won the ADC primary with 1,846,370 votes, defeating Rotimi Amaechi (504,117 votes) and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen (177,120 votes). However, both losers rejected the results, claiming widespread irregularities and voter disenfranchisement. President Bola Tinubu secured the APC ticket with over 10.9 million votes against sole challenger Stanley Osifo.

In other parties, Donald Duke won the PRP ticket amid allegations of vote inflation, while Omoyele Sowore returned as AAC candidate and Adewole Adebayo retained the SDP ticket. The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is expected to formally ratify Peter Obi as its candidate. Political observers anticipate further defections, coalition negotiations, and legal disputes as parties consolidate before the deadline.

Which party's nominee do you believe has the strongest platform to address Nigeria's current economic and security challenges?
