Fola Adeola named head of Nigeria's petroleum reform task force
President Tinubu appointed Fola Adeola as chairman of a nine-member Presidential Petroleum Reform and Value Optimization Task Force on Friday. The committee will design structural reforms for Nigeria's petroleum sector, following Executive Order 09 mandating direct remittance of government petroleum revenue to the federation account. Fola chairs alongside industry experts including Ademola Adeyemi-Bero and Osagie Okunbor. The task force must produce execution-ready reform blueprints to consolidate ongoing reforms and strengthen Nigeria's position as a leading global energy investment destination. Fola, born January 13, 1953, is co-founder of Guaranty Trust Bank and founder of FATE Foundation. He previously served as Lagos State Disaster Relief Committee chairman and as NUPRC board chairman from 2004-2006.
