FUTA NeoLife Ban: FHG Leader Admits to "Internal Excesses" and Threats Against Students
Following the recent ban on Faitheroic Generation (FHG) and NeoLife at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), a senior leader within the organization has publicly admitted to internal challenges and toxic practices.
In a report published by UCJ FUTA, a Senior Manager identified as "Soji" revealed that the organization is currently in "damage control" mode.
Significantly, he acknowledged that the university's ban might actually be necessary to "curb the excesses of some persons in the organization that threaten students who decide to quit."
Key Developments:
- Leadership Response**: FHG leadership has initiated internal consultations and is attempting to open a dialogue with the FUTA Student Union Government (SUG).
- Mixed Campus Reactions: Some active FHG members argued the ban unfairly disrupts student income, claiming that a drop in academic performance is a "personal choice" and not the fault of the business.
- Support for the Ban: Conversely, many students welcomed the proscription. One student noted that the activities had become a massive distraction, stating, "I know of people who don't really care about their academics anymore because of their involvement."
FUTA students have been directed to remain vigilant and report any ongoing harassment or recruitment attempts directly to the Dean of Student Affairs.
