Ghana's Black Maidens secured a 2-0 win over Canada to advance from Group C, while Zambia's Copper Princesses crashed out after a 1-0 loss to France in Group D at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco. Both matches concluded Saturday's final group-stage fixtures.

Zambia, Puerto Rico, and New Zealand are the first three teams officially eliminated—each finishing with zero points after losing all three group matches. Zambia's exit ends Africa's second representation at the tournament.

Ghana's victory puts them through to the knockout rounds, joining Japan (2-0 over Venezuela) and Brazil (3-0 over Norway) who also advanced from Groups C and D respectively. France topped Group D with the win over Zambia.

More eliminations will be confirmed Sunday when Groups A, B, E, and F play their final matches. Nigeria's Flamingos are not participating in this edition after failing to qualify.

The Black Maidens now await their Round of 16 opponent, determined by Sunday's results. Will Ghana become the first West African team to reach the quarter-finals at this level?
