Global stock markets rose Wednesday as oil prices slipped ahead of the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision, with Brent crude falling 1.1% to $107.56 per barrel and WTI dropping 2.1% to $103.62. The yield on the 10-year US Treasury note climbed above 5% for the first time since 2007, signaling expectations of a 25-basis-point rate hike to combat persistent US inflation.

While European and Asian markets gained (FTSE 100 up 0.6%, Nikkei 225 up 0.7% to 63,923 points), the Dow Jones fell 0.6%. The dollar strengthened against major currencies, rising to 155.13 yen and weakening the euro and pound.

For Nigeria, a stronger dollar typically increases the cost of importing goods and servicing foreign debt, potentially pressure on the naira. Traders should monitor Central Bank of Nigeria forex policies and consider how currency movements affect import-dependent businesses or foreign investments.

Will you review your forex exposure or adjust savings strategies in response to these global currency shifts?
