The Nigerian government, via Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, has asked airlines not to raise fares or halt operations despite aviation fuel costs jumping from about ₦900 to ₦3,300 per litre since February. This follows an Airline Operators of Nigeria notice threatening to suspend services on 20 April over the fuel hike. The appeal aims to prevent ticket price increases and service disruptions for travelers. Stakeholders should monitor fuel price trends and consider contingency plans if fares rise or operations stall.
