Guinness Nigeria Plc announced its unaudited results for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, posting revenue of ₦142.27 billion—a 20% jump from ₦118.66 billion in the same period last year. Gross profit rose to ₦53.99 billion and operating profit to ₦24.34 billion, while net finance costs fell to ₦1.75 billion from ₦4.61 billion a year earlier. Profit before tax reached ₦22.59 billion, and profit after tax surged 57% to ₦14.91 billion, lifting earnings per share to ₦6.81 from ₦4.33 in Q2 2025. Building on this momentum, the Board approved an additional interim dividend of ₦7.00 per ordinary share, adding to the earlier ₦2.00 payout for a total interim dividend of ₦9.00 per share—about ₦15.33 billion distributed to shareholders. Chairman Prof. Fabian Ajogwu, SAN, said the results show the business's resilience and the effectiveness of its long-term strategy, while MD/CEO Girish Sharma credited disciplined execution, consumer focus, and prudent capital allocation for the sustained growth. The company remains committed to its 'Building for More' agenda, targeting operational excellence and lasting value for shareholders, customers, employees, and communities.

With the dividend now at ₦9.00 per share and earnings per share at ₦6.81, will you consider holding Guinness Nigeria for the income stream, reinvest the payout, or reassess your exposure to the consumer-goods sector given the strong cash generation?
