Harry Maguire's Greece sentence reduced to 15 months

A Greek court on Syros island reduced Manchester United defender Harry Maguire's suspended jail sentence from 21 months and 10 days to 15 months for 2020 Mykonos brawl charges. The 32-year-old had been convicted of assaulting a police officer, attempted bribery and other offenses after a nightclub incident where his sister was allegedly injected with a suspected drug. His brother Joe and friend Christopher Sharman received 13-month suspended sentences for similar charges. The appeal trial was postponed four times between 2023 and 2025 due to procedural issues including lawyers' strikes. Maguire's original sentence was handed down in 2020 after two nights in police custody following the Mykonos incident.
