Houthis strike Saudi oil sites, injure 73 as US hits Iranian tankers

On Tuesday, Iran-backed Houthi rebels launched drones and missiles at four southern Saudi cities—Khamis Mushait, Abha, Najran and Jazan—targeting an airbase in Khamis Mushait and oil-related facilities belonging to Saudi Aramco in Abha, Najran and Jazan. Saudi authorities said the attacks injured at least 73 people, including women and children, and sparked fires at the targeted sites. The Houthis claimed responsibility for what they called a wide-ranging operation against Saudi territory.

Separately, U.S. forces resumed strikes on Iran after a two-day pause, hitting several Iranian oil tankers linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps near Kharg Island and Jask, according to U.S. and Iranian reports. Iranian media said a U.S. missile struck a tanker six kilometres from Kharg Island and another near Jask along the Gulf of Oman. In response, the IRGC threatened to target oil tankers at Kuwaiti and Bahraini ports and urged crews to evacuate.
