IGP deploys nationwide security for Eid-el-Kabir celebration

Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has ordered nationwide deployment of personnel and operational assets to ensure peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebrations across Nigeria. The directive issued Wednesday reinforces the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to safeguarding lives and property during the festive period.

Security arrangements include tactical teams, intelligence operatives, and conventional officers deployed to Eid prayer grounds, highways, motor parks, recreational centers, and other public spaces expecting high human traffic. The police will strengthen visibility policing, coordinated patrols, surveillance operations, and intelligence-led stop-and-search duties nationwide.

Nigerians are urged to remain vigilant and support security agencies with timely information. Residents should report suspicious persons, objects, or activities around public gathering points to help prevent security incidents. The police reassured of adequate security presence throughout the Eid-el-Kabir festivities.
