IGP Kayode Egbetokun resigned from his position due to family matters requiring his full attention, according to the Presidency. Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga confirmed the resignation letter cited personal family issues demanding undivided attention. The resignation followed a meeting with President Tinubu at the presidential Villa where Tinubu directed Egbetokun to resign. This comes after his resignation filled news space on Tuesday.
