Inspector-General of Police IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu has paid over N2.4 billion in group life assurance to 1,075 beneficiaries and next of kin of deceased officers. The payments cover policies from 2018/2019 to 2025/2026, including recoveries from outstanding insurance obligations. Disu emphasized that police welfare remains a central priority, stating "a police institution must demonstrate responsibility and compassion towards personnel and their families." He vowed to strengthen welfare frameworks and improve benefit delivery timeliness. The gesture acknowledges officers' sacrifices while committing to ongoing support for families.
