This formed the focus of discussions on Good Morning Nigeria, a flagship programme on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), where members of the panel appeared as guests. Ezeugo noted that the current manual processes contribute to delays, data inconsistencies, and limited accountability, challenges he said could be addressed through a centralised digital system. Also speaking, the chairman of the panel, Dr. Magdalene Ajana, called for immediate improvements in the welfare and working conditions of correctional personnel. “Addressing the welfare concerns of correctional officers is not just about staff well-being; it is fundamental to boosting morale and enhancing service delivery across facilities,” she stated. Ajana emphasised that better remuneration, improved working environments, and access to adequate resources would empower personnel to perform their duties more effectively. The panel’s findings, as discussed on the programme, underscore a dual reform agenda, leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency while investing in human capital to ensure a more responsive and effective correctional system.
