inDrive drivers in Nigeria can now access healthcare services through the platform's app after partnering with Heala, a Nigerian healthtech startup. The partnership allows eligible Platinum drivers to subscribe to Heala's health plans starting from ₦1,300 ($1) monthly. Benefits include video/audio/chat consultations with licensed doctors, prescriptions, medication pickups at nearby pharmacies, diagnostic tests, and specialist care. Drivers can also add dependents like spouses and children to their plans. This addresses the lack of employer-provided healthcare benefits for independent contractors who spend long hours navigating traffic and have unpredictable schedules. The move follows similar welfare initiatives by competitors like Bolt and Chowdeck, which offer accident insurance and discounted healthcare services to drivers.
