INEC Concludes CVR Phase II, Opens Voter Register Display April 20‑26
INEC announced that the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ended on Friday, 17 April 2026, with 3,748,704 Nigerians completing their registration—2,259,288 through the online pre‑registration portal and 1,489,416 in person at designated centres nationwide. The commission said the numbers are preliminary and subject to verification. With registration closed, INEC has shifted to the display of the Register of Voters for Claims and Objections, which will run from 20 to 26 April 2026 at centres across the country. This stage lets citizens check their details, report duplicate entries, deceased persons or non‑citizens, and help cleanse the voter register ahead of the 2027 General Election. INEC’s timeline shows the first CVR phase ran from 18 August 2025 to 10 December 2025, the second from 5 January 2026 to 17 April 2026, and a third phase will open on 4 May 2026 and close on 17 August 2026, followed by a second claims‑and‑objections display from 24 to 30 August 2026.
If you registered during the second phase, visit your designated centre between 20 and 26 April to confirm your information and file any objections; if you are still unregistered, mark your calendar for the third phase starting 4 May. Will you use the April display window to verify your voter details, or wait for the next registration period beginning in May?
