InfraCredit has secured a US$50 million subordinated unsecured 10-year debt facility from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), to be disbursed in two tranches of US$25 million each. The facility strengthens the AAA-rated institution's capital structure to support a growing pipeline of infrastructure projects across renewable energy, climate-smart agriculture, digital infrastructure, healthcare, transportation and other productive sectors.

This investment builds on InfraCredit's track record of facilitating over NGN600 billion in long-term local currency financing across 28 infrastructure projects since 2017, including Nigeria's first 15-year green infrastructure bond and extensions of corporate bond tenors to 20 years. The Company has also supported 14 first-time issuers in accessing Nigeria's domestic debt capital market.

IFC's Financial Institutions Group Director for Africa, Aliou Maiga, stated the investment helps mobilize domestic resources for infrastructure driving economic growth and job creation. InfraCredit CEO Chinua Azubike noted it reinforces institutional capacity as their transaction pipeline evolves and demonstrates continued confidence from the international development finance community.

The Facility expands InfraCredit's ability to mobilize long-term domestic capital for sustainable infrastructure, complementing its core guarantee business while supporting projects at different financing stages. Will this increased capacity translate to faster infrastructure development and improved public services in your community?
