Brighton winger Zadok Yohanna has been ruled out of Nigeria’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea‑Bissau due to injury, DAILY POST reports. The 19‑year‑old missed the Unity Cup in May with a hamstring problem and is now expected to be sidelined until after the international break next month. Yohanna has made only two appearances for the Seagulls this season, though he earned his first senior call‑up earlier this year after strong showings in Brighton’s academy and a few Premier League appearances.

Nigeria will host Madagascar in Matchday 1 on Friday, 25 September, then travel to Guinea‑Bissau for Matchday 2 four days later. The loss of a young attacking option raises questions about squad depth as the Super Eagles aim to secure vital points in the qualifiers, which are Nigeria’s opening fixtures in Group B of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers.

Coach Eric Chelle may turn to established wingers such as Samuel Chukwueze or Moses Simon to fill the void, or consider younger prospects like Emmanuel Dennis. Who should step up in Yohanna’s absence to provide width and creativity on the flanks for the Super Eagles?
