Iran demands reparations, guarantees to end war with US, Israel
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian outlined three conditions to end the war: US reparations for damage caused, recognition of Iran's legitimate rights, and international guarantees against future aggression. He disclosed these in talks with Russia and Pakistan, who condemned the US and Israel for starting the conflict. Over 1,300 Iranians killed include former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khameini and 160 schoolgirls. Retaliatory strikes killed eight US soldiers and 12 in Israel. The US claims to have destroyed Iran's air force and navy, but Iran continues strikes on Israel and US interests. Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, causing global petrol price increases including in Nigeria.
