Iran's new army chief General Amir Hatami warned on Wednesday that Iran will not tolerate threats from outside powers following support for anti-government protests from the United States and Israel. "The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the escalation of hostile rhetoric against the Iranian nation a threat and will not tolerate its continuation without responding," Hatami said, according to Fars news agency.

The warning comes after US President Donald Trump threatened to intervene in Iran if demonstrators are killed, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed support for the protests in recent days. The military chief's statement signals potential escalation in tensions between Iran and Western powers backing the protests.

Iran has faced ongoing anti-government demonstrations in recent weeks. The military's strong response indicates the regime's stance against foreign interference in domestic affairs. US and Israeli positions represent significant diplomatic pressure on Tehran's handling of the crisis.
