Iranian students chanted anti-government slogans at Tehran's Amirkabir University on Saturday, marking the 40th day since mass protests were violently suppressed. The demonstrations, which left thousands dead last month, featured chants of 'Long live the shah' and 'Death to the three corrupt' in Farsi. This follows US President Trump's military build-up in the region, including two aircraft carriers and jets deployed to pressure Iran into nuclear talks. Videos show scuffles breaking out as protesters faced off against counter-protesters. The US and Iran recently resumed Oman-mediated nuclear negotiations, but Washington simultaneously increased its military presence. Trump warned Tehran has 15 days to agree to a deal, while Iran denies nuclear weapon ambitions. The unrest began over economic grievances but evolved into anti-government protests, with authorities acknowledging over 3,000 deaths but blaming 'terrorist acts'. Foreign governments including Sweden and Australia have urged citizens to leave Iran amid conflict fears.
