Iran launched a missile attack on Tel Aviv Tuesday night using cluster warheads in retaliation for the assassination of its security chief Ali Larijani. Iranian state television reported the strike killed two people in a densely populated Tel Aviv neighborhood near key military facilities, raising Israel's death toll from the conflict to at least 14. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed the use of Khorramshahr 4 and Qadr missiles with multi-warheads. Israel claims Iran repeatedly uses cluster warheads, which disperse multiple explosives mid-air and spread over wide areas, making them difficult to intercept. In a separate incident, a projectile hit near Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant Tuesday evening but caused no damage or injuries, according to Iran's report to the IAEA. IAEA chief Rafael Grossi reiterated calls for maximum restraint to avoid nuclear accident risks. Israel and the US stated preventing Iran's nuclear weapons development was a goal of their attacks that killed Iran's supreme leader and other top officials. Iran confirmed Larijani's assassination and the killing of his deputy Alireza Bayat in an Israeli attack Monday night.
