According to reports, Iranian parliament national security committee head Ebrahim Azizi warns of "dire consequences" for Israel and US forces if assaults on Lebanon continue. In a post on X, Azizi stated, "If the assaults on Lebanon do not cease entirely, the repercussions will be dire for the Zionist regime and US forces in the vicinity. They are fully cognizant that this is not an empty threat, and we are ready for a military response."

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump claims diplomatic progress, announcing he advised Netanyahu to withdraw troops from Beirut and that Hezbollah "consented to a ceasefire." However, Israel maintains its position that assaults will continue if Hezbollah targets "our cities and citizens," with forces continuing "as planned in southern Lebanon." Al Jazeera reports Trump's announcement aimed at preventing escalation to Beirut, though conflicting statements leave the situation extremely precarious.

What does this mean for global security as Iran shows willingness to escalate militarily while Israel maintains offensive posture despite claimed diplomatic breakthrough?
