JAMB adjusts 2026 UTME arrival time to 7:00am
JAMB has revised the arrival time for 2026 UTME first session candidates from 6:30am to 7:00am, with exams running from 8:30am to 10:30am. The adjustment comes after criticism about requiring teenagers to arrive before dawn when centres are several kilometres from homes. Candidates need not reprint their examination slips following this change.
Four sessions will run daily Monday-Thursday: second session (11:00am-1:00pm), third (1:30pm-3:30pm), and final (4:00pm-6:00pm). Fridays have only three active sessions with the third slot reserved for contingencies. Over 2 million candidates nationwide will take the exam from April 16-25, 2026.
JAMB emphasizes punctuality for smooth conduct. With most centres several kilometres from homes, will you adjust your departure time to arrive comfortably by 7:00am or aim for earlier arrival to account for traffic?
