JAMB Refunds Visually Impaired UTME Fees, Provides Audio Materials
JAMB clarifies visually impaired candidates who paid ₦7,200 registration fees will receive refunds at exam venues, along with accommodation, transport, and lodging for guides. The board also promises audio versions of prescribed texts via email post-registration and QR codes linking to soft copies in physical books. However, candidates report confusion over upfront payment requirements and lack of initial communication about refunds. JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin stated the fee was a safeguard against abuse, noting verification difficulties across private and public centres. Refunds will occur during exams at designated centres, where accommodation and transport are also provided. Candidates must scan QR codes in physical texts for digital access, while audio copies will be emailed after registration closes on February 28. The 2026 UTME runs April 16-25.
