Jason Cundy urges Man Utd to sack Carrick, hire Emery now at Old Trafford
Former Chelsea player Jason Cundy has urged Manchester United to sack manager Michael Carrick and appoint Aston Villa boss Unai Emery as his replacement, insisting club co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe should act now rather than wait until December. Speaking on The Sports Bar, Cundy said, “Unai Emery, go and get him, get him out of Villa. That is what I would do,” and added, “If I were Sir Jim Ratcliffe, I would now cut my losses and go and get Unai. Don’t wait until Christmas to have the conversation; do it now.”
Manchester United have lost two of their four Premier League matches this season under Carrick and were eliminated from the Carabao Cup after a midweek defeat to Brighton. The club’s recent form has left fans frustrated, especially among the large Nigerian following that tunes in weekly to watch the Red Devils.
While no official decision has been announced, the growing pressure raises the question: will Ratcliffe heed the call and bring in Emery to stabilize the side, or stick with Carrick in hopes of a turnaround?
