KACRAN says the North has the capacity to end insecurity in the North-West and North-Central within 45 days if federal and state governments show genuine commitment. In a Sunday statement signed by National President Hon. Khalil Mohd Bello, the cattle rearers association outlines a two-phase plan: two weeks for contact and engagement with all relevant groups, followed by one month to implement its peace proposal.

The group cites four advantages: human capacity, population strength, respected leadership, and agricultural resources. It points to the Birnin Gwari dialogue in Kaduna as proof that even complex conflicts can be resolved through engagement. KACRAN commends Governor Uba Sani's peace efforts and urges other regional governors to follow suit.

The association warns against forming tribal vigilante groups, arguing they undermine lasting peace and risk creating opposing factions. It calls on the Federal Government and North-West/North-Central states to adopt its comprehensive proposal before the 2027 elections, with decisive action against any bandits who reject the deal.

With killings, displacement, and cattle rustling still rampant, will political leaders actually commit to this dialogue-driven approach or treat it as another election-season promise?
