KACRAN urges 19 Northern Governors and the FCT Minister to rebuild the moribund Northern Nigeria Development Company (NNDC) to tackle the region's economic decline and worsening insecurity. The association states NNDC, founded in 1949 under Sir Ahmadu Bello, once drove agriculture, industry, finance, energy and infrastructure, making the North a net exporter of goods through entities like the Bank of the North and textile industries.

Its collapse has coincided with demographic growth, unprecedented insecurity, and agricultural/industrial collapse. KACRAN proposes a 5-point roadmap: reviving textile industries across all 19 Northern States and FCT, establishing agricultural and commercial banks for soft loans, harnessing solar energy for industry, exploring mineral resources, and securing ₦2 billion monthly seed funding from each state to reclaim NNDC assets. The group insists revival will restore NNDC as the North's economic engine and urges immediate adoption by the Northern Governors Forum.

Will Northern governors commit to the ₦2 billion monthly per state funding requirement, or pursue alternative strategies to revive the North's economy without NNDC's reconstruction?
