The decision was reached during a stakeholders’ meeting where party members deliberated on and settled the leadership structure. Kano ADC Chairman, Musa Ungogo, confirmed the arrangement, saying Kwankwaso’s camp would take the larger share, while the remaining 40 per cent would go to existing party members and other groups that recently joined the party. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1524595905268-5'); }); He explained that no specific slot was reserved for former Deputy Governor Nasiru Gawuna, but noted that Gawuna is now aligned with Kwankwaso and would be accommodated within his group. Ungogo said the 40 per cent share would be distributed among members from different political backgrounds, including those from the Labour Party, PDP, some defectors from the APC, SDP members, and individuals previously not active in politics. He added, “One thing you can take home is that every group and every member is happy about the sharing formula. And secondly, all the positions that you will get from this congress today would be reached by consensus. There will be nothing to regret.” According to him, the party is rapidly gaining popularity in Kano, with many new members joining from different political parties, including the ruling party and the PDP, as well as individuals who had stayed away from politics. Ungogo described Kwankwaso’s move to the ADC as a major boost for the party, praising both local and national leaders for its recent growth in the state.
