Kenya's Artificial Intelligence Bill (2026), introduced in February, establishes the continent's most comprehensive AI regulatory framework. The bill creates an independent AI Commissioner—dubbed the 'digital sheriff'—with powers to inspect AI systems, access data, and enforce rules.
