Keyamo restores hybrid airport payment system starting Friday
Federal Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo has approved a hybrid payment system for airport access gates nationwide, effective Friday. The move reverses the suspension of the full cashless system imposed by President Tinubu due to traffic congestion complaints. Motorists can now use both cash and card payments at all airport entry points, with FAAN Go Cashless Card holders continuing their existing cards. Electronic options like POS terminals remain available. The minister urged public adoption of the cashless card while working toward full automation. This temporary solution restores previous arrangements while FAAN develops a fully electronic system nationwide.
