Kwankwasiyya Movement demands Tinubu govt explain N1B PFIPC allocation in 2026 budget

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has demanded the Presidency explain how over N1 billion was allocated to the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) in the 2026 Appropriation Act, despite government claims the body never existed. In a Saturday statement signed by spokesperson Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, the movement said the controversy has evolved from individual misconduct to a test of government transparency and accountability.

The group questioned how a non-existent entity got budget allocation, who approved it, which offices processed documents, whether funds were released, and how alleged forgeries went undetected. They stressed these are non-partisan accountability questions Nigerians deserve answers to, noting the Tinubu administration came to office promising institutional reform and transparency.

The Movement warned unresolved controversy could damage Nigeria's international image and investor confidence, urging Presidency to publish full account of PFIPC's budgetary origins and administrative processes. They also called on National Assembly, anti-corruption agencies and oversight bodies to investigate thoroughly, emphasizing public funds belong to Nigerians and must be properly accounted for.
