Former England defender Kyle Walker has criticized Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad selections, specifically naming Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Morgan Gibbs-White as major omissions. In an interview with The Sun, Walker stated that Maguire and Shaw have had 'the most impressive seasons for Manchester United in quite some time' yet were excluded from the tournament squad.

The Burnley player expressed particular concern about England's defense, questioning whether the selected defenders can maintain fitness throughout the tournament. 'This is where I have reservations about some of them, but ultimately, I am not the manager,' Walker noted.

He also highlighted Gibbs-White's omission despite the Nottingham Forest player being 'outstanding for Forest.' Along with this trio, other notable absentees include Trent Alexander-Arnold, Phil Foden, and Cole Palmer from the England squad traveling to the United States this summer.

With England's World Cup campaign beginning soon, will Tuchel's selections be vindicated on the pitch, or will Walker's criticisms prove prescient about the squad's defensive vulnerabilities?
