Last Chance Lifeline: UNILAG Re-opens Portal for First Semester Course Registration
In a major relief to the student body, particularly those who have been battling financial constraints or technical glitches, the Vice-Chancellor has authorized the emergency re-opening of the student portal for the 2025/2026 First Semester course registration. This decision serves as a critical lifeline for students who missed the initial deadline and were at risk of not being recognized as registered students for the session. The portal is currently active, allowing students to log in, select their courses, and generate their dockets, which are mandatory for sitting in the upcoming examinations. This move is seen as a benevolent gesture from the administration to ensure no student is left behind due to procedural lapses.
However, students must understand the urgency of this window, as the administration has emphasized that this is the final opportunity. The registration portal will officially shut down on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Immediately following this closure, the "Add & Delete" window will open from January 19 to January 25, providing a brief period for students to correct any errors in their course forms, such as removing clashing electives or adding compulsory GST courses they might have omitted. The University’s Communication Unit has issued a strict disclaimer stating that there will be absolutely no extensions beyond these dates. Students who fail to utilize this grace period risk having to defer the semester or carry over entire course loads, potentially delaying their graduation.
