Leo DaSilva urges video wills amid Alex Ekubo family inheritance dispute

BBNaija star Leo DaSilva has urged Nigerians to record video wills after a public feud erupted over the estate of late actor Alex Ekubo. DAILY POST reports that Ekubo died of kidney cancer in May 2026 and was buried in his hometown on June 18. Days after the burial, his biological mother’s family accused his stepmother—who raised him from age seven—of hiding the circumstances of his death and preventing anyone from viewing the corpse. Ekubo’s elder sister allegedly hired a blogger to publish articles against the stepmother, whom the actor had acknowledged as his mother. Many Nigerians questioned why the biological mother reappeared only after his death, while others linked the conflict to disputes over Ekubo’s property. Reacting, DaSilva said blood relatives can be enemies and advised making a video that clearly states how one’s property should be shared after death. He had previously disclosed in February 2025 that he was preparing his own children for his eventual passing.
