The Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) has dismissed a complaint against Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, ruling it outside their jurisdiction. The panel found the complaint flawed procedurally and substantively, noting it was addressed to the wrong committee chair. Allegations about NYSC participation and legal training fall under the LPDC's mandate to regulate legal practitioners' conduct, not personal history. Kalu's name change from Benjamin Okezie Osisiogu is irrelevant to the case. The LPDC emphasized its role under Section 10 of the Legal Practitioners Act to regulate professional conduct only.
