Meta launches Muse Image AI for WhatsApp/IG/FB - here's what Nigerians need to know
Meta has launched Muse Image, its new AI image generator for WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, allowing users to create and edit visuals through simple chat prompts. Announced earlier this week, the tool lets you generate images from text descriptions, edit existing photos, create QR codes and infographics, and even redesign rooms using products from Facebook Marketplace - all with conversational instructions like "put my cat in the Mona Lisa" or "remove that photobomber."
The model powers over 30 new AI effects for Instagram Stories and enables image generation in WhatsApp direct chats with Meta AI. Currently rolling out in limited countries with more markets coming soon, Meta notes that edited images retain full conversation context for easy refinement. Muse Video is already in development as the next step in their creative AI suite.
This builds on Meta's earlier AI Mode search feature for Facebook, which uses Muse Spark to deliver context-rich answers from Groups and Reels. For Nigerians who rely heavily on WhatsApp for business and chat, this could streamline content creation for small enterprises - if and when it becomes available locally.
