Momodu: Atiku alliance could end Tinubu's presidency
African Democratic Congress chieftain Dele Momodu asserts that an opposition alliance featuring former Vice President Atiku Abubakar alongside a southern political figure could defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election. Momodu contends that a coalition ticket with Atiku and candidates like Peter Obi or Rotimi Amaechi would significantly weaken the ruling APC's prospects. He emphasized that such an alliance would mark the end of Tinubu's political foundation, stating 'Tinubu will be finished' if opposition parties unite. Momodu highlighted Atiku's enduring political ambition and experience as key strengths, noting his favorable perception among former opponents. He warned that mass defections from the PDP to APC since Tinubu's presidency threatens Nigerian democracy, calling it 'a tragic day for democracy' if the PDP is left with only a few governors. The former PDP, APC, and ADC leaders are now collaborating to challenge the APC in 2027.
