Moniepoint is testing its network of over 1 million PoS terminals across Nigeria's 774 local government areas as distribution channels for Dangote Refinery's ₦2.15 trillion IPO. Nigerians can visit any agent location, provide their BVN if they don't have a Moniepoint account, and buy shares starting at ₦5,250 (10 shares) up to a maximum of ₦100,000 per person - all without needing investment apps or speaking to brokers. Each share costs ₦525, and the IPO runs from September 14 to October 13, 2026.

This initiative leverages Nigeria's 5.9 million active PoS terminals, which processed 15.66 billion transactions in 2025 (second only to internet payments), to reach the IPO's target of 10 million retail investors. With Nigerians using PoS terminals nearly twice as much as mobile apps, this could significantly democratize capital market access, particularly for daily wage earners who receive cash payments and previously lacked investment avenues. While Moniepoint absorbs processing fees for the IPO, agents charge their standard commissions - exemplified by a ₦100 fee on a ₦5,250 minimum investment transaction.

To participate, visit any Moniepoint agent with your BVN (for new users) or registered phone number. The minimum investment is 10 shares (₦5,250), with a PoS-specific cap of ₦100,000 per person. Shares are allocated through Vetiva Capital as sponsor broker via the Nigerian Exchange Group. Consider whether this physical access model suits your financial habits compared to traditional investment apps, especially if your income comes primarily in cash. The subscription window remains open until October 13, 2026.
