Jose Mourinho insists he'll remain Benfica's coach next season despite the Portuguese champions losing their title chase. Monday's 1-1 draw with Casa Pia mathematically ended Benfica's league title hopes.

The 62-year-old has a contract until June 2027 but includes a release clause allowing him to leave this summer. When asked about his future, Mourinho stated: "Jorge Mendes is my agent, but I make my own decisions. My choice is to stay in Benfica."

Mourinho returned to Portugal last September after 21 years coaching in Spain, Italy, England, and Turkey. His return aimed to restore Benfica to dominance in domestic and European competitions.

With the title gone, questions focus on whether Mourinho's approach needs adjustment or if squad rebuilding is required. Benfica remains in the UEFA Champions League and Portuguese Cup competitions.

For Nigerian football enthusiasts following Mourinho's career, this decision shapes one of Europe's historic clubs. Do you believe staying demonstrates commitment, or might Mourinho need a fresh challenge to regain his winning touch?
