The shutdown, effective March 2026, follows removal from app stores on March 20, 2026, with existing users in Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa given a 30-day notice. Ayoba combined chat, music, games, news, and mobile money but struggled with weak retention due to free data incentives and technical issues.
